Hi guys..
Firstly don't flame because I drive an EG and I'm posting on an ek9 forum. But I seriously need advice and opinions..
So to cut a long story short... I've spent loads of time and money building my D16A9 engine non vtec turbo
Had it on road for 2 days and I was loving it. It drove flawless until the 2nd day..
One of the oil cooler hoses dropped out it's place and rubbed against the driveshaft gaiter clip .. pierced a hole and sprayed oil everywhere. This was due to the bodywork guys lowering my oil cooler and not fixing the hoses securely.
Anyways the damage was already done .. engine was starved within seconds. So bye bye to all that money and time spent.
I've built the whole car up and was fresh out the spray booth so I can't give up now.
So I'm in the dilemma now of k20 or bseries (b18c4) turbo. I have sourced an mb6 vti which I will use as a donor car.. but not sure which route to go down. Should I k20 it instead? Keeping it n/a I know k20ing the EG is A LOT more work and fabrication required but the engine is so reliable.
I can salvage the whole boost kit and bolt straight on to a b18c4.. possibly upgrading to a ramhorn manifold.
Would love some thoughts and opinions.
