hiya guys im getting a set of cams springs retainers s300 higher comp head gasket etc which cams do you get better gains out of the buddyclub spec 4+ or skunk2 pro stage 2 ???

i already have 4to1 mani de-cat buddyclub pro spec3 cat back skunk2 intake ported 70mm throttle body port matched j's racing intake what sort of bhp would i be pushing when done also will be having the head port n polished ???

you really should consider building the bottom end if your going to all this effort

what would i need i dont realy want to put a b18 bottom end on i want to keep it 1.6 or do you mean new ??

Buddy club 4's are extreme cams. You will find getting it to idle a little bit tricky even with the Hondata. You will also make power very high up. You will still be producing power up to 10k rpm so if you plan to run that high you need to make sure everything is up to it. Unless you are going to run that high then its almost pointless going for the spec 4's.

you should change your pistons as well to wiseco as oem ones wont last long with this set up, no point doing a big head job and leaving bottom end stock.
with the cams you want, you will need to be running at least 12-5 compression to get the best from your cams, also the buddy 4 cams and s2p2 and basically the same thing but from my research most people use s2p2 even tho buddy 4 cams gave bigger hp gains

So would you say beter going for the spec 3 + instead also what sort of gains guys thanks again

i would go for spec 4's mate, with your set up and a good map you could see anything up to about 70hp or so

70bhp!!!

No chance

i think you'll be upto 210-215 with stock bottom end

dont forget adjustable cam gears

With the right map, exhaust/intake you can get 200whp maybe more on 11:1 compression with the S2S2 , seen it myself

EDIT: On b18

hey guys cheers for all the help so far and yea still a lil confussed on which cams to go with any1 tried and tested them ???
also heard skunk2 cams crack or snap is this true or just romours any faults with the spec 4+ ??
also the guy thats doing the work is called stevie at grinspeed i have heard reali good feedback off people also a guy who you'st to work for tdi north will be doing the map cant remember his name though

Ive used s2 cams and using again in my currrent b18c high comp build

never had issues

There is always a risk with aftermarket cams with them snapping (even when installed correctly). I've had it happen to me with a JUN 3 intake cam. One thing is for sure i've never heard of a OEM cam snapping.

ok so i have the very same set up
buddyclub valves springs retainers hi comp gasket port n polish

if u want to keep stock 1.6 go for spec 3 like i did a a gud race spec bearing set
and new piston rings

u will not run spec 4 on the above as ur comp is way to low

Ive had experience with both sets of cams, and I'd rather run those Skunk2s. Youll see much more midrange and similar top end power to the Buddy Clubs. Also, the 70m throttlebody is going to work real well, but ditch the Js racing intake and run a dedicated cold air. On my civic I switched to an Injen CAI from an ITR (its 3 inch and fits the 70m throttlebody perfect) and cant be happier.

cheers again guys for all the help and info so how would the aem cold intake work with the set up also if i went for the spec 3+ would i be able to actieve 210bhp to 220bhp ???
with a good map ???

Spec 4's and Pro2's a bit overkill for a stock block B16B.

Spec 3+ a bit more realistic with a better powerband that your stock cams.

Dont worry about peak power, it's everything underneath that, that counts.
