Ok, I've got a problem with running up rich on my fuel mixture... My rear lip gets stained not long after cleaning... This was present with stock ECU and aftermarket...

I have a feeling that the reason might be that the fuel it's supposed to use is 100 octane.. is this correct?

What can I do without having to install a tunable ecu?

Would a fuel pressure regulator help? I'm not sure about this one...

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? the stock fuel regulator of EK9 Civic B16B runs at 56 PSI. Can you check your plugs if they're very very very black?

I don't think that the problem is the octane of the fuel, if that was the problem you will have detonations, right now my car runs 95 octane gas with no problems at all :D

Hi RVM,

I don't know what to check on the fuel regulator but Ive ordered a SARD fuel regulator + gauge. Maybe I can fine tune the fuel pressure.

As for the plugs, which plugs? Spark plugs? I've changed them last time and I can remember that they were normal. I use erodium plugs now.

I get a lot of back fire and I noticed that theres a hint of small pop when I apply accelerator in whatever revs in gear. I hate it...

I've ordered a new oxygen sensor as well from Japan. I'm very fussy so I got to get it fixed...

has this just started ? what mods do you have ? running rich all of a sudded sounds like your o2 sensor so good you have 1 on the way

thats exactly what i was changing on my car today, mines shot as wont run in lean burn mode or closed loop (fully mapped for performance but also economy on partial throttle), economy has become terrible so gonna monitor mine over next few weeks now

nope this has been going on since I got the car and even when I changed the stock ecu over to the J's Racing and SPOON chip. I hope I can find the problem in the O2 sensor, that'll be easier...
