hi guys.thinking about buying a blox intake manifold to use with my spoon throttle body.anyone have info on this type of manifold and would it be better than standard manifold and will i need to adjust the fuel/air mixture.thanks

For the price is a great manifold, remember that the blox manifold is from the USA, they don't have b16b there, they make this for b16a b18c1 b18b etc. I prefer the stock B16B intake manifold because is a "tuned" by Honda Intake manifold, and you can't compare it in performance against b16a b18c1 and b18b intake manifold. Also a lot of tuners say that the blox / skunk 2 intake manifold are Integra Type R intake manifold replicas :wow:

I read a lot about this intake manifold on the internet, and the people who installed this manifold are happy with it, they consider it better than skunk2 manifold, but 95 % of the time this where integra gsr users. :)

I will only change my intake manifold if I get bigger camshafts. And i will think of another brand, like edelbrock for example

Remember that anything that changes the air flow, you will need to adjust the fuel / air mixture :)

Spoon Throttle body wow, 550$ :wow:

Keep us informed in what you decide. :woot:

Let me tell you what I know. I'm Skunk2 Racing from top to the bottom and the only part that I did not touch is the inlet manifold. Why? My mechanic told me that even if the Skunk2 inlet manifold is one of the best aftermarket intake manifolds around, there is no need to change the stock EK9 manifold because it performs great on this B16B engine and it gives even more power when you modify the engine where the air requirements become more. And this is because is well tuned from factory. Important to know: The stock EK9 intake manifold is the only stock EK9 part that operates very far below from its true potential when the car is untouched whereas the exhaust manifold for example operates near its full potential even when your engine produces 185 horses!!
However, if you decide to change it for a one that has bigger runners like Skunk2 for example, the car will breathe better but this is recommended for complete race setups where the air demands are huge. Its not expensive though, is about $300 I think :nice:

the blox/skunk2(non pro series)/aebs intake manifolds are all very similar and rvm was very close when he said they are itr/ctr replicas. to be exact they are more like mildly ported itr/ctr replicas, that is to say if you ported your ctr intake manifold it would be just as good as blox/aebs.skunk2 if not better. if you dont have a porter in your area then its not a bad idea to pick one of these up if you already have cams and a TB.

i prefer the AEBS unit for a few reasons.

-cheapest
-ive sold a ton of them and have had no complaints
-aebs used to be an engine builder
-there made by proffesional products which has been around for a long time.

the skunk2 unit is very nice, it is a little cleaner and the quality is a little higher but it is also about double the price.

Half the price? Wow, that AEBS is really cheap! Intakes manifolds are so important components but at the same time very inexpensive compared to other parts. A header which is considered to have an average price(around $500) is almost twice the price of Skunk2 Pro I/M or more than 3 times more expensive than AEBS as you say!!
