build up of my ek9


You've got such a sweet EK9 man. It's such a shame you've had a few problems with the Engine. :(
 
Thanks man. Yes it's been a pain but i always try look on the bright side I've ended up going a different route now which will hopefully work out better, certainly will be quick if I get it all running with the turbo :)

thanks mate, yeah shame but its all actually helped me put the car to the side and build as a track car so kind of went a good way

You're welcome! :) There's always a bright side to anything Kev. It will be stupidly quick if you pull it off. I've always thought about supercharging a b-series, but then I realise that the k-series are far better for that. ;)

indeed there is :) i hope so it was very quick as it was so can only get better :) i was looking at same but a k series swap is way out of my price range and i dont have the knowledge or time to do a k swap to save money, at least this way il still have alot of power and fun for a reasonable price and with me wanting to go for my race licence an go racing this will help me fund that and run car in the near future :D

True that! I know that Hybrid-Racing specialize in providing parts for/performing k-swaps into other Hondas. It was something I started looking into but I went off of the idea quickly, not because it's expensive, but because I prefer the B-series engines. Sounds ace man! I really can not wait to see this progress! :))

i was looking at there stuff and was very tempted but my mate is a honda mechanic and did it all himself and still took out a loan to pay for it and think it still running over his 5k budget :damn2:

yup hense why i am looking the boosted route for more power and hope a better setup :) not been in it but iv driven a k20 ek wasnt running alot of power at 208bhp but OMFG it was sweeeeeeeet made me want one so so much lol

Only time will tell. I've only ever seen a few boosted B-series engines knocking around. It's a fair amount of power for a standard engine though to be honest, that's why I considered a K-series. What kind of BHP are you hoping to be running man?

yeah, thats why iv gone for the b18c4 lower compression so better for boost with standard internals, the b18c4 is rated to take up to around 400bhp on stock at fly i think. iv already got a integra box for better gear ratios uprated engine mounts and loads of other bits so shall all work well together.
il be looking about 300-350bhp with the setup iv got but anything over 280bhp il be happy with. iv got a 280bhp focus st as my daily and that pulls like a train so anything like that but in the light ek shall be alot of fun and very very quick :D

Aye, less likely to end up ******* your pistons and everything else shortly afterwards. That's a lot of ponies man! You should easily get that much out of it though! :) Mmm a 300+ BHP EK... :drool: makes me happy! :drool:

indeed :) i am tempted to sell turbo purely as it can possibly pay for my track licence or pay for acage but i am going to put it on and see how it drives first and go from there iv got plenty of time so no need to rush lol cannot wait to get the car working again though missed the raw drive of the 9 so much haha :drive:

Should definitely keep the turbo on. How much is your track license going to cost you? I can't wait for you to get the car working again man! Even I'm excited for you! :)

i want to keep turbo on but iv got more options of race series to enter without turbo like the vtec challenge and selling the turbo set up i could possibly pay for a full msa cage.

well iv got the msa go race pack so saves me a bit but i rekon around another £400 for full licence as long as i pass :)

engine has been delivered but they not sent it to right place so got to chase them up tomorrow, rather anoyin

hmm... if there's more choice for race days and you want to acquire your race license then I'd definitely sack the turbo off man. £400 for a race license? That isn't too bad I guess. :)

ye i am thinking that but till i go for the licence im guna strap it on an have some fun :)

its not a bad price but its very expensive to race lol

il take it for a run when the b18 in to feel vtec again its been so long and see how the new mounts, integra gearbox and stripped interior all come together ;)
