Ive seen a few nicely finished scale models on Facebook recent and was wondering is there much to building one? The models I've seen are finished exactly to how the owners car is.. Has anyone done one or know much about them? Or where to buy the extra parts to build one so I could build a model that looks exactly like my car? As the models I've seen have pics of the extra parts there bought to suit there car like bucket seats, alloys, lips etc

You talking about model kits like Tamiya, Aoshima, etc.?

I have a few in my room, including the Civic Type R. The end result on my models are usually decent, as I don't own a spray gun, like the professionals use.

The more time you take filing away plastic, making everything perfect, the better the result will be. Nothing to it. The biggest obstacle is the painting process! Need a steady hand and some good paint LOL.

As for extra parts, like seats, harnesses, wheels, etc. You will have to check if the model company actually made these bits. Seen some people do custom jobs, like a Rocket Bunny bodykit for a 180SX.

Here's a few of mine. Some not built yet.

I'm missing the Tamiya S2000 and Hasegawa Evo V Rally Car.
