It does seem to me that for some reason the B18C does tend to burn quite a bit of oil compared to the b16b
My old dc2 had a full service history and did not have that hard a life being owned by 2 older guys before me and it used a fair bit of oil on track about 1 liter after 30-35 laps and on the road I would have topped her up with about 200ml every week or so. The car never smoked when I owned it but I was told that when on the power you could smell oil behind the car
On the other hand since buying my ek9, it doesnt seem to use a drop of oil on the road and used a tiny bit on track after the oil started to break down a bit. IIRC neiller on the site also sold a dc2 that was using alot of oil and since buying his b16b ek9 it doesn't use oil
