Im going to be buying a car from the isle of man its been registered over there but used to be on uk plates before going over there

My question is i will be going over there picking the car up and getting the ferry back over and drive it home il be insuring it using the vin number but recently heard il need to do a nova (notification of arrival) on the dvla? Im not 100% sure how the system works and dont fancy getting pulled by the jammers

Also is there anything else il need to do?

Find out the reg an get plates made, get insured on that reg an drive it over

When it's over just apply for the logbook on the uk reg it already had

On the original uk plates its not had mot or tax since 2013 so this would flag up id have guessed and il be driving the car up to scotland from heysham port 180odd miles

I know which car you on about now, why not get a trailer or truck out for a day? Pick it up from docks am get it home

Rossco155 did you end up getting this car?

Just want to know if you had to fill in a NOVA or not as I am in a similar situation :))
