california cops crushing illegal street racing cars

that's crazy.... makes my blood boil.... I heard in my friends forum ephatch.com, one driver (lived in California) driving his ep pulled over by a cop and tell him to pop the hood, the cop let him sign a paper....he signed it but didn't read it... the paper tells that they're allowed to searched the hood... when they checked the hood they saw a racing header and give him a ticket.... i think $3000 US dollar or more can't remember...
 
hey guys... how about when you go a vacation on California and bring your car....:nerv: are they still gonna CRUSH it!?

well this is just an example....if it was me, im not gonna bring my car to Cali, after seeing that....

Wow, what an insane law man........I would not withstand to see an EK9 sitting on that machine man :(..........And all these because of a VIN number??? If they do not want to respect the people(as they usually do), then at least respect the cars and their value. I wonder if the would had done this to their American muscle cars! :mad: I'm sure its not a coincidence the fact that a Honda is sitting there in the clip.
 
just imagine that all our cars have to go through that... man, just imagine what would the owners be feeling?
 
If they crush you're car based on what Dut said, then california laws suck worse than I thought. You would have to have lots of proof that the engine and transmission is yours and not stolen.
This kind of thing has been going on for a while, so when the owners set out to go street racing they knew that there was a risk of getting caught and having their car crushed. Its not like they had no idea it was illegal and there would be consequences if they were to be caught.
Did you guys ever take into account how many more cars have been totalled from actually crashing during a race, and how many people, involved in the race or not, have died over the years because of street race crashes? And you care about some kids EG getting crushed even though he had to KNOW what he was getting into when he decided to race.
I've raced on empty roads before, but they don't crush cars in every US state so I was ready to have my license taken and a fine if I were to get caught.
And manos, I don't think that there is any discrimination against imports for whats getting crushed or not. If some guy in his classic american muscle car were to be street racing alongside a honda and they both got caught, then both cars are crushed, simple as that.

do they think in the US by CRUSHING cars will change this..!?

i jst think they should not be allowed to do this...however, ive never stood on US soil b4 so i am not 2 judge :rolleyes:
 
Check this out.. If you ever get pulled over by a cop and if he asks you to pop the hood.. politely tell him "I'm sorry I can't do that for you." Cops are not allowed to just open up your **** just because it looks fast. They need probable cause.. i.e: you were speeding in excess of a 100mph. Cops are tricky, they will ask you to step out of the vehicle and then ask you if they can search your car.. SAY NO. (You're assed out if your on probation.) Then when that doesn't work they will ask you for your keys, DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM. Once you hand over your keys that's like saying "go ahead look through my shiit and rip it apart" Cops need permission to go through your stuff.. That why we pay taxes, so we are protected and that is why they always have to ask.. SO JUST SAY NO.
 
Un-fricken-believeable. I just caught that vid. I've heard rumors before, but i had no idea. I gotta agree with Dino-S- that if you race on the road, your fate is what you make it, and I'm not saying I haven't (106mph in a 35mph zone put an end to that) but there are definately consequences. What gets me though is a sense of prejudice against those of us driving tuned imports. I don't race anymore, unless it's on the track at Topeka, but i still get pulled over and harrassed about 1-2 times a month just because of the car I drive. And it's really not that flashy.....yet... Anyway, I've done a whole research paper for a college Comp course on the subject of police profiling and the tuner world, and i'll be happy to post it, if anyone wants to read it. peace

i understand what your saying and you are correct. but the gray area is "probably cause" he can say your in a suspicious area driving an obviously modified car. etc etc. but i believe if you do resist till the end he has to call his captain for approval.
