Well my car used to run on 15" buddy clubs..and i liked the ride height- heres a pic.

Than i sold those and went to some 13" steelies and it was even lower

Now I have 16x7 Advans runnin on 204/45/16 and when i left my height the same and put the advans i was at this height- and i would rub the front and rear tires like crazy...i couldn't even turn right...and forget about dips.

Now for my questions. Ive seen a lot of lowered cars on some nice rims, and they all have camber like crazy and it appears this is how they are able to not rub their tires. Isn't camber bad for tire wear? Im a total noob to this- here are some pics of examples.

These are the only ones i had on my computer- but ive seen some that are even more inwards if you understand. I dont think i'll ever lower my car like that- the roads here suck so the height im at is fine, but how do these guys do it? with all that camber wear? thanx for any help haha im such a noob :(

man that amount of lowerage is just stupid if you ask me.. it will hit lots of **** the ride will be bumpy as ****.. i sthere any point, perhaps lower it a little bit so it give it s a bit of a nicer look but theres no need to go that low imo..

oh i dont want my car as low as those cars- im simply asking is that the only way? I thought camber wear is bad- especially that much some of those cars look like their driving on half an inch of the inside of the tire. In my recent pics you can see that my height looks lower in the back than the front on some of the shots so i gotta fix that...im just hella lazy lmao.

Nice thread,

Well first of all, when you lower any honda, you will have a negative camber increase, thats why you see that the wheels + tires like this:

To fix this, a lot of people install camber kits, doing this, they can adjust negative / positive camber, and "normalize" the tire wear, also this camber kits are used for drivers at the track, depending on how many and type of turns they find in the track they adjust the camber, they adjust more or less negative / postive camber to the right or left side wheels.

If you want to learn more about camber kits check out this thread:

Let me know if you understand me, since my english sucks lol :)

wait so let me get this right...if a car is that low- and the tires are going inwards- they still wear evenly because of a camber kit? My car has a camber kit- but i dont want to go that low...just trying to understand how some people can drive like that. but i see your point- its probably for track purposes. But on a honda-tech thread "post your slammed cars" most of those say they are daily driven, and im like "wow..." haha. freaks me out. I dont like the slammed thing- looks nice but from my understanding any suspension setup will ride like crap.

what i'm trying to say is that you can install a camber kit so you can prevent some tire ware :nice:

NO, the camber kit prevents the tires from going inward, thats how it makes the tires wear evenly :nice:

its a fine art ;) i know dut understands me on this one.

wrong, you can slam a car and make it ride good, its all in suspension. things like spring rates, shock dampning, shock travel all play a factor. my car rides really nice and its slammed! (i am referring to my track car) hope this helps.

i really wish i could have a car like in some of those pics *height wise* and still be able to keep it daily driven as a comfy factor. I wouldn't mind setting up the suspension properly but the roads here suck for anyone slightly lowered. especially the speedbumpbs. They are massive, and everywhere. College- Highschools- Malls, they are insanely high and steep, they look like this ^ but like...12 inches high...k im exaggerating but its really bad so dont really wanna break something down there. thanx for all the help though guys.

yer but you ant tell us with your slammed car it doesnt Slam into kurbs, bumper or any holes in the road cas i have owned a slammed car before and it is insane on how many bumpers you go though and how many "OH FFS!" when you hit something on teh road or other lol it does your damn NUT IN!! lol i say lower it enough so it looks good a dew mills or so, nothing like 4 inch's just stupid imo.

i had a 4inch drop on a 4-door 92 civic about 6 years ago, man i loved that thing :)

In some areas a very low drop is not practical at all, but you could get away with it in Mcallen TX, it seems reallly flat. For the speed bumps just come at it slow and at an sharp angle so your tire sort of hits first. And for the camber, I know a lot of cars that are super low dont drive around like that all the time, or for very long. Some people just do that for photo shoots or shows. Otherwise these people are just ballerz who dont care about the tire wear. ( i think?)

wow u know where mcallen texas is? haha or did you google it. but yeah i see what you mean doing it for shows or shoots. i know how to take the bumps at sharp angles but there are some where i look at them, reverse and go around some other way hahaha.
