I've had a look around but can't seem to find the answer. I'm sure this would have been asked before though..

I've been in a DC2 Type R a few times and the vtec seems a lot more brutal, for lack of a better word, compared to the EK4 VTi. Now I'm no mechanic, but I can only assume that the vtec lobes in the DC2 are bigger than the EK? Perhaps someone can elaborate on this, or correct me? Ha. If you were to put B18 camshafts in a B16 you would have Integra Type R vtec? Sorry, noob here :)

I think it has something to do with the cc difference. A B18 is bigger and are sucking more air than a B16, that could be one of the reasons why VTEC is more brutal.

Like a vacuum cleaner set on "mid" could symbolise the B16 and "max" could symbolise B18

Makes sense I guess? but another 40bhp from 200cc?

200cc
Bigger cams
Higher compression
Ported head
Better intake/exhaust
Lighter valvetrain
Better balanced bottom end assembly

Plus the car is lighter and has no sound deadening.

I would like to buy EK9 camshafts cam and 2x8 new oem dc2 valve springs (blue)
