alright guys basically just a wee question to confirm am not buying the wrong things here, iv got a facelift ej9 which is a d14z2 a think, lookin at a d16 manifold swap to go with the stainless that im putting on. Am i right in thinking a need a d16y8 manifold because of the obd2 ecu, and also will the 240cc injectors be ok to use as im not bothered about overfueling i just want it to pop a bit more without the key ( yes i am a child and i like the pop )
cheers for the help in advnace,
kieran :nice:

Hi Kieran

There are loads of threads on the net (Dodo Upgrades)

Most of them say.....
D16z6 (will improve mid - top end)
D16y8 (will improve more top end - so will only be good for single v-tec d15-d16)

Don't know much about the ecu aspect, as most keep the stock 1.4 injectors, throttle body, and sensors.

Not much help, but I guess they will be d14 upgraders on this site, who will be able to share their experience

Awrite Kieran mate, I've done the D16Y8 mani on my EJ9 myself. I should be able to tell you anything you need to know!
As for ecu and over fueling thats not an issue man as both D16Y8 and D16Z6 are both single over head cam so will do straight on :nice:

Also, that website ek9danz put up is a belter, some good info on there

Been thinking of doing this myself too, could you notice much difference Kammy?

chers for the reply guys so am righ in thinkin a z6 manifold with the injector rail, swap injectors to 190cc and bang on it will go to obd2 just use the old throttle body for the sensors and accelerator cable ?

almost....I think you have to swap the trottle pulley on the d14, to the one attached on the d16 throttle body. Basically becuase the D14 throttle body faces upwards, and the D16 is horizontal. :win:

Noticed a wee bit of difference mate but not too much tbh, makes a bit more noise tho lol More torque difference than anything else but at the end of the day it is an improvement and doesn't cost too much :nice:

Correct man :nice: throttle pully change, 2 second job
