the reason i asked this is because i wont t get bthe best out of my gearbox as it is a s4c and its perfect so thinking of swapping the final drive annnd the 4th and 5th if needed?

98 dc2 4th and 5th are longer than the s4c 4th , 5th.

Put either a 4.785(my choice) or a 4.928 final drive into the s4c box.

The gear spacing in the s4c/96spec s80 are IMO perfect .

I have a s80 gearbox with 4.7 fd and I can only speak good of it! The car has more pickup from any revs...
