hi, i have recently acquired my ek9 and thought everything was fine till a few days in, I have noticed the car pulls to left under acceleration and changing down the gears, i have checked tyre pressures and they are all ok now but still does it..

Took the car to a local mechanic and he put it up onthe 4 post ramp and pulled the wheels by hand and said they were fine, i wanted him to use a bar round wishbone etc.. but he was addomant its was fine but blamed it on bein low due to tein coilovers!

my car before a civic jordan and was just as low but didnt do this.. he said raise the suspension and he would do wheel alignment and it should solve it. I think it must be bushes or something!

Has anyone experienced problems like this or have any knowledge of what it could be?

thanks

Take a look at your engine mounts, I had the same problem and just had to change them. I replaced them with Energy Suspension PU lower mounts.

yeah one of them has gone on the gearbox and im in process of replacing. The one on the other side is ok but has snapped in 1 place. may just replace both.. are they the same as normal civic b16 mounts? Thanks for the reply!

yea, you might want to check the alignment tho - its more likely than a worn mount to cause pulling

The tracking would be felt all the time but its only under acceleration so the mounts sounds like more of the culprit i would say... correct me if im wrong!

it brakes perfectly in a straight line but oly swerves left under acceleration or changing down gears aggresivly and can be much more felt at speed!

tracking mate did you hit a pothole or anything like that upper camber arms if not them get your allighment done shud fix it.

the front lca bushes is probably where you should start looking...... as you accelerate, the wheel trys to pull forward and puts a sideways force on the large bush at the back of the lca. There is a movement, even in a new car (the reason you always drive forwards before doing a wheel alignment) these bushes wear over time but if one has worn and become looser than the other side then you will get one wheel move more than the other and this will cause a pulling to the side with the strongest/tightest bush as the other wheel will pull forward more in effect 'steering' you to the opposite side.

the same products people use to control wheel hop can reduce this if you feel you cant find any worn bushings on the front lca's.
