car wont start ??

It wont drain it, its not earthing it at all so it physically cant drain it. If anything its cooling it which can cause it to not work at its optimum, by this reducing the output and charging ability of the battery. Same idea as starting a car when its cold/winter.....

Depends how old the battery is, only in the past decade have batteries really modernised. An its an eg9 were talkin about so the battery could be 20 years old. If its a battery with rubber seals the seals were porous then it could be drained if the moist concrete floor permitted the current to find an electriclal ground

Ah you never mentioned hard rubber cased battery in your original statement, and these are now deemed antiques! I thought this was a statement for plastic cased batteries :p

Granted the hard rubber cased batteries could degrade, but 99% of batteries are now plastic cased which cold/wet concrete has absolutely no effect :nice:
