Carbon bonnet changes

Hi guys,

I've got a Seibon Evo Style carbon fibre bonnet on my EK which I'm not over keen on as I don't like the EVO grill.

Ideally I'd like to keep the bonnet as it's carbon fibre and quite light. I was wondering whether it would be an expensive job for a body repair place to eliminate the grill completely and smooth it out so that it looks like a normal bonnet?

This is basically what the bonnet looks like.

Far easier selling the current one and just getting a good second hand OEM style one. It would need to be painted afterwards as you cannot hide the "repair". I have seen a few repaired cf bike frames and it was always very visible. And to have a bike frame fixed costs over £100 and that's for a small patch, so you can probably imagine the cost involved in what you want to do.

What he said ^

Even for the repair. It would be almost impossible to match to the current carbon weave and would just look like a massiv repair. The only way would be to put a massive skim of carbon weave ontop and reskim it so its all one weave which will cost alot and wouldn't be worth it at all as its changing its charactists and also making it heavier

Cheers guys. I had a feeling it would be an expensive job getting it altered.

No worries. I'll probably have to source a decent second OEM one instead as I want it looking more OEM and it's a bit OTT for my liking this bonnet is.

Thanks chaps.

I'd like a normal Carbon bonnet without the daft vents in it, it's a shame really as it's so light in comparison to an OEM bonnet.

I really think I'm going to struggle to sell it now because of the style of the bonnet.

How much you selling yours for?

Can I just point out that I'm not trying to sell anything under the 250 post count rule, was just merely mentioning it!
