Me again guys!

So I was having a bit of a nosey under my car and under the hood trying to get a feel for what's what etc but what's the best source of info for civic and DC2's? (I'm getting a DC2 in the not too distant future)

I've heard great things about Haynes manuals but is there anything else worth grabbing?

Cheers,

Sensible

there is plenty of good books out there, depending on what your after. Haynes is good for a broad range of jobs that you can do on your car from simple oil changes to stripping and rebuilding parts. then obviously there are more specialised books for engine and gearbox builds etc.. If your looking at DC2's i'd sign up to ITR-DC2.com (be warned: do your own searching for information as they don't like threads being started on topics that have already been covered a lot like the ones you will most likely be asking!) another good Honda forum is Honda-tech, mainly American users but there is a tonne of info on there for all Honda types. and finally ofcourse ek9.org for your civic woes! :nice:

Haynes manual will do the job mate for everything else on here is enough I built a fully built dc2 and was only ever on this site the engine are the same and chassis is very similar

Cheers guys :) I'm putting some money aside for the DC2 (don't plan on importing since it's a wee bit unrealistic for my wallet lol) but will find myself a fairly tidy UKDM one and get it running just right.

There is a US ek manual in pdf format kicking around. Has its uses and very detailed for an oem book.

There is an offical Honda motor co. technical manual for the DC2 in english. My mate has one although he no longer has a honda. Will see if he has the pdf file still and foreward u in :nice:

You don't need a book, we live in an age where everything has been done & video'd by someone else.

"How do I change the RTA bushes on my....." it's on YouTube.

Also, it's a 90's Japanese car & they are all the same lol (I've had enough of them!)

^^ Above, true but you cant belive evrything you read on the web. The manuals are a handy reference for torque guides, clearence values ect. Can be a ball ache scouring through forums for The right info.

Forums are a wealth of misinformation. Sometimes it takes years to figure out who you can actually believe.

Well I know a few on here are super clued up on their cars but I'd love to get clued up myself :) I guess the best way is getting proper stuck in haha.

Looking forward to the DC2 already! I really hope by this time next year I've got it (I'm saving up for a good example)
I need to start showing my face around afterall!

They are ace cars, I had a 96' spec.
I must admit I prefer the handling of the EK9 as there isn't that wavy tail feeling.

Simple enough to work on, just get out there & give it a go.

My old one, pretty sure it's been ruined since. The guy swapped perfect real TE37's for some ****ing Rota's.

Ho hum!

I'm in the same position as yourself. I'm picking my dc2 up very soon and have been looking for some sort of reference guide. Didn't know Haynes did one for the dc2, may have to research that one. :)

Have to admit I think most things I will need to do to mine will have been covered on one forum or another and there is stacks of info on them as well.:)

I know that Dan James has the mother of all workshop manuals, specific to the dc2. Where he got it from, I've no idea though. I'll ask him and any info I can get on it I'll pass over to yourself. :nice:
