civic type r ep3 wheel fitment

I have just bought my second ep3 and looking at changing the wheels.. im thinking of downsizing to 16/8 if possible. Can anyone tell me if there are any issues fitting smaller wheels? I have searched elsewhere but can't seem to find any information. Thanks in advance

16" is the smallest you can go, 15" won't fit with the EP3 brake calipers.
8" wide? What offset do they have?

Not true.
My old team dynamics pro race 3 15" fit on my brothers ep3. Looked tiny but worked and cleared the brakes, just.
He used them while he refurbished his oem ones

Probably an exception then, I know someone here tried it with several wheels and it didn't work. 15" does work with EP1/EP2/EP4 but it just looks wrong, way too tiny indeed
