Right want to say first I'm not into the usual tegiwa bashing that goes on on here.
But...
Bought a master cylinder brace from them thinking something so simple to engineer they couldn't mess it up. Well they did.
The holes for the bolts to the chassis are too small. Or the bolts are too big. This is completely novice tbh and I'm disappointed that they have so little enthusiasm or quality control for their products.
I know I could make the holes bigger myself but that's not the point.

So to conclude I'll either be sending this back to them. Or never buying a tegiwa branded product again and will advice anyone else against doing so.
It's not hard work to check a bolt goes through a hole guys have some commitment!

Rant over

Is there paint in the hole?

Thinking it could be a tight fit before its coated unless its drilled after of course.

Just an idea of what's going on here. Still, should accommodate for these things really.

I've tried to force the bolt into the hole and turn it to cut the paint off but the hole is too small for the threads to even catch the side of the brace.

Also just managed to flatten the thread on the bolt so hole is defo too small.

Ah I see. Defo too small then!

Honda use the same size bolts for most of the bits bolted in the bay so it's quite bad that Tegiwa can't manage to get this right.

I've tried to get the supplied bolts to go through thinking the same thing but its just managed to annoy me further lol.

Hehe! Yeah I think we all get like that when things don't go together that should.

Supplied bolts!? Didn't realise that they sent some with it. That makes it even worse!

Re-tap? I know, you should not have to do this, but it is a very low cost part.

Many of the parts Ive installed needed some sort of alteration or tweek to make fit, AiM, Skunk2 [especially Skunk2 parts], AEM: big time, to name a few.

Im not speaking on behalf of the Tegiwa, just pointing out its normal for me to find the same issue with other manufactures.

Did you buy this new or used Jesse?? I remember a old thread where someone moaned about these when they first came out, so you may have got one of the early versions.

Nope brand new in tegiwa box with tegiwa supplied bolts.
Tama - It is a simple job to put right but that makes it worse for me. If its simple I shouldn't have to do it lol I mean its a metal bracket with holes in. Haven't even tried fitting it and its playing up.

Not sure why I'm getting so worked up over a 30 quid piece of metal lol

Firstly sorry, quite right - you shouldn't have to make any alterations. I'm not 100% sure what I'm looking at but. I guess it's one end of a brake stopper which should have a hole for an M6 bolt to go through.

Can you confirm the bolt is M6? If it is then I have no idea how this could have happened, we really have sold lots before and this issue as far as I'm aware is isolated. They are made using CNC

We will of course get to the bottom of this and you'll have a product fit for purpose. If you can PM me as I don't get notifications otherwise

Thanks
Johnny

thats what i thought when i got a set of cooling pipes, one of the pipes had the tegiwa logo's printed on the underneath so when it was on the car you couldnt see it, now ive since learnt that tegiwa have a seriously bad rep im glad you cant see the brand name lol. Plus im running a tegiwa toda rep where the two mount holes dont line up but thats enough of my rant, hope you get yours sorted out which again looks like seriously poor design

rip tegiwa, for me anyway

The manifold hanger issue has been discussed to death, we should really just remove it like most other manufacturers. You just need to buy a JDM 98spec bracket or not run one at all.

Or If you are talking about the main flange then this issue was resolved 400 manifolds ago.

Thanks

I can't be sure that the bolts are m6. They are a allen key head with y.f.s stamped on with 010.9 which I'm guessing is the bolts strength? I'm just going to drill the holes out alittle more I think aslong as it will go into the holes in the car. i wont be drilling into the car.
Had abit of rage come over me for some unknown reason and you guys happen to be in the way lol will update this tread tomorrow if I can make it fit.

Basically if you take out one of the bolts where it bolts up to they are also M6. If they still don't go through then yes something has gone wrong. Send me a PM once you know.

I'll get the rest of the batch checked on Monday too.

Thanks and sorry once again.

I'll do this now and let you know,

understood. Looks like Tegiwa will be help you out...
dont get too worked up on this, im sure there are other things to be more concerned about, like drinking enough water on a daily basis. :))

Well turns out they supplied the wrong bolts! So proceeded to the fitting stage using the bolts already on my car.
First test fit it looks like this!
156085A5-9BB1-49C1-B2E4-154052F3AE18-2491-0000043B3222997F_zps12cd658a.jpg

Now I thought I must have gotten that upside down or something as that clearly doesn't fit. Tried the other way

Now no room to fit the red head on the bolt with the locking nut aswell,
Now some one please clear this up for me, am I a retard who can't fit **** or does that not fit?

oh crap! that is not right. You may have the incorrect part altogether.

Drink some water, relax and then call Tegiwa asap. Ask them to send some free stuff while they are at it. never know.
