- 1998 Honda civic hatchback
So when I first bought my civic, there was a couple issues, as it had sat for 6 years and had a couple exterior issues that I thought wouldn’t fly through its first mot
First issue to be sorted was a service !
Changed fluids/sparks the week I got the car as well as replacing the air filter with a higher flowing one
Next up the car had some severe idling issues where it would idle hunt to the point it would stall
So after some googling and reading some old forums to find out possible solutions
This was my first “fix” on any car and to be honest I was shitting myself
Ended up purchasing a new idle air control valve, with rubber gasket, and due to taking the throttle body off I got a new gasket for that too !
Bought some carb cleaner to go along with as well and decided while I was there to clean out the throttle body as much as I could as well and stuck it all back together!
First start I was nervous but after a couple min to allow it to read the new airflow the idle hunt was fixed for good ! MEKANIK !!
After this I had observed when buying the car that the passenger wing mirror and drivers tailight both had holes in !
So again I managed to source both from the same guy for £25 on marketplace ! Even managed to get the electric wing mirror too ! As mine has em
