i was wondering how much does it usually cost to convert a 4 bolt to a 5 bolt? and what would i need to buy to convert it?

Conversion usually goes here for around £550 I'd say, for the following (minus new wheels)

You will need:

all 4 hubs
all 4 brake discs and pads
all 4 calipers + carriers

Depending on whether you have rear drums etc on the rear, you might need new brake lines as well, and a new handbrake cable.

Also, don't forget new wheels, as presumeably you're old ones won't fit :p

If you are going from drums to disc in the rear then, on top of what Joshm88 has already suggested, you will also need to change your brake proportioning valve located at the firewall to that of an EM1 Si (its equivelent model anywhere else respectively).

Hmmm.....that's not necessarily true! I have an EJ8 with rear drums on the back and my prop valve is the same as the EM1 version....I have a rear disc conversion (not fitted yet) but have been told by people who have done the same conversion I do not need to change my prop valve....? There's a thread on here that pretty much sums it all up, can't find it though!

Its something I read in an article of HondTuningMagazine once when I was inquiring about performing this conversion myself. Stuff that insterests me just seems to stick to me. Its not something I made up.

I'd like to search for it online but i'm about to start getting ready to hit the local pubs. Cheers!

Joshm88 is right depending on the year, didn’t have any problem on my ej8 swap

:nice: my EJ8 has a Honda of America vin tag :secret: so despite what some people have said here in the UK, I can't see there being any difference between UK and US prop valves!

you'll also need the drive shafts from a 5 stud motor like a ctr:nice:

he only needs the drive shafts if uses the hubs from a 98spec jdm teg, because instead of 32mm they are 36mm...
