hi ther, i fitted a crank girdle to my b20 block i was just wondering what bolts shoud i use because the 4 outer bolts are not long enough.
Plus what torque should i tighten them to? any help here would be greatly appreciated!:please:

Why have you fitted a girdle? You need to think about this properly before you do it.

I dont think you can due to it being a B20 and not b18/16

what should i be thinking about mate? i thought i should have fitted it due to it being a non vtec block and it will be revving alot higher, so therfore needing extra support on the block. is the block girdle not needed?

My b16 dont have a girdle and im going to rev it to the moon, if you want to fit one I would have it align bored with the maincaps and girdle torqued down, or fit a damper

b16 is a vtec block my b20 is a non vtec block, i thought it would be essential for extra support for the higher revvs! the girdle came with dowels in the kit to line it up, its a perfect fit.

are you using the B18C crank girdle? B20's need this to be reliable, i'll find out the bolt size but im sure you use the B18 bolts.

It's a much smaller engine, the crank flex and vibration isn't as big an issue as it is on the B20.

Hence why I wrote fit a damper, it is when reving to 11,000 rpm plus:p And like I said before you cant go fitting a girdle without an align hone which are not cheap.

chrissy i understand u totally an ur on the right path , placing the vtec head on the b20 block its gonna rev much harder cause the b20 block was not built for high revs ,thats y u must install the girdle for the suport, other wise ur gonna have pain later on

Interesting subject non the less.
