Hey Guys/Girls
Not civic related but hope you can help, my brother crashed his mk1 focus rs on friday at braehead near glasgow, i was in the car with him and we are both fine however looks like the car is a write off(
Just looking for a bit of advice from people who may have been in similar situations, what happened was we were coming down the road near the new porsche garage incase anyone knows approaching a set of traffic lights, the road has two lanes and we were going down and round the bend in the road and proceeded to move to the right hand lane, as we did this the car locked up and veered straight across the road and into a bollard at the other side. We were doing around 40mph and it had been raining. Im not sure why the car locked up if it was just because the road was greasy or not used to the car as he had only got it 3 days ago!!
Anyway the police attended the scene and took all the details as usual and we were both in the back of the police car they said he would be summond to court for dangerous driving and will be banned! now the police were not exactly friendly they had the attitude that we were typical boy racers going to see the fast and furious kinda thing and gave him a massive lecture about causing deaths on the road etc etc i thought this was out of order as he was shaken up from the crash and the last thing he needed was 2 unfriendly voices in his ear even when he wasnt driving fast.
So hes getting a bit nervous now what will happen, i havent got any points and not been involved in summons so not too sure but i reckon they were trying to scare him?
When we were in the car they breath tested him which came back fine, they checked over the radio and no cameras were pointing in the direction of the crash, there was no witnesses and no other people or cars involded that could make a statement against him so its there word against ours, all they kept saying was you must have been doing 60 to come across the road kinda thing just speculating, both wheels were fine if we were going that fast over the road hitting the kerb you would have thought they would have been damaged.
Ok enough ranting lol, do you think they have a case at all seen as its more or less our word against theres?
Cheers
