Just put ctr clocks in my ek4 the other day and only realised this morning that thy were reading the wrong kph, I was doing 50kph when passing one of the speed things which tells your speed, but it said I was doing 47 kph I know it's not off by much but is this a common problem? Anyone know what's wrong?

Speedometers are designed to over-read that way you're always going slower than you think so you can't blame the manufacturer if you get done for speeding if the clocks were wrong.

Since fitting the A'PEXi RSM which displays the actual speed straight from the VSS it shows that the car's speedo is a good 10% out

Wouldn't worry about that bud, gauges are a guide and as said normally read higher.
That's why there is normally a 10% difference given on speed limits to allow allow for speedo readings.

cheers lads :nice: didn't realize that they would actually do that, thought my clocks were broken, kind of annoying the way its not the actually speed but ah well, thanks again.

Only a true GPS speedometers will give an accurate reading, as said already OEM speedometers are designed to read high.
