hi all wondering if you could help... ive recently brought an ek9 its due a service and its been booked in and ive jst had the alternator belt done! but tonight i was driving it on motorway and tec'd it from 4th till 5th.... buy the time ive hit end of 4th its about 120 just over but then it jerked a lil and felt like it cut out i felt the jerk and the throttle wasnt at full response either any ideas?
the bloke i brought it from said he has de restricted it... but i dnt understand why it would stop around 125 marker? any idea?

It sounds like de de restricter is not working properly! Waht type is it?

Its stopping at 118mph (190kmh), the 120 thing is the innacuracy of 2-3mph.

He will have fitted the converter behind the cluster instead of on the vss connector from the gearbox. The signal is wire is spliced so it goes to the ecu then a splice off that signal wire then goes to the speedo. Hence the restriction is still there.

hmmm intresting? any idea on were or how i can de restrict?

Reach/look ontop of your gearbox under where te intake arm is down to te speed sensor. Check if theres a little unit attached to it in some way.

Or speak to the importer and ask where the de-restrictor was fitted. If it was fitted behind the dash, simply remove the cluster, de-wire, re-joind the speedo signal wire and re-install the de-limiter unit to the top of the speed-sensor :nice:
