I have an ek3 1.5LSi as well as an ek9 and the 3 is 16v but SOHC. It does have the green econ light on dashboard and is still a vtec. Prob same as yours! Nice good quick car with the added benefit of some excellent ecomony if driven nicely. I usually do about 120 miles on a tenner mixed urban and motorway!!

it is a good car imo economical and reliable :nice: and yea it has vtec but only on the intake valves.
i had one and i was faster than a mates 1.6 celica with i/e/h !!
i had only a cone filter.

The d15z6 is a 16v SOHC but it only uses 12 valves when in eco mode (the green light on the dash is on) this only works under 3000 revs when the throttle is less than half pressed. It only has vtec on the 8 intake valves and doesn't work in 5th gear as this is only a cruising gear and is only good for 100mph so top speed is reached in 4th :)

thanks, problem solved. Althought so far have done 254miles with about £28 quid of petrol this is urban, extra urban, doin town driving and motorway. The occasional foot down

why does mine burn so much ive only got a full straight stainless exhaust and 4 branch. i done about 150 miles for 30 pound and i think it would do another 30 or 40? and that was on the motorway.

keep the green light on and it will do a lot more. i had 1 of these and loved it. Prefer my teg tho :naughty:

Yes you do have a v-tec e i have the same car, d15z6 is a 1.5i ls vtec-e ek3 with 16 valves engine.

i dont really use my eco because of the way i drive but i do know that i can drive in 5th gear and have the eco lite on on the dashboard.

as soon as you go faster than 70mph you tend to use more feul but if you think about it isnt that normal? but if your using a sht load of feul you best get your car looked at it cant hurt to know if everthings ok

sup guys new to this so give me a while to get used of it... i have a d15z6 into my 97 civic all is good but its running off my 1.4i ecu the vtec is on a switch so its either on or off...should the power increase when on full time?
