Thought it was about time i put some sort of a build thread up, before anyone asks i dont know when its going B series im just having the craic with what i can afford at the moment!

Have this coupe 3 years now at this stage, it began life like this

Bog standard apart from 17s and a big back box

Its first trip into the garage it got a full detail and major service including new MTF, the **** that came out of the box resembled watery molasses, didnt smell as nice though, smelled more like 12 odd years of neglect.
Second purchase was the Jun lip, ek9 style grille and 40mm springs, photo courtesy of Tommy Dampbox Dampachi Lucas

Thats how it stayed for a while, did a few other bits of cosmetic tidying up like splitting and respraying the rear lights where the reflective paint had peeled off (common in coupes) converting it to twin rear lights and splitting and respraying the front lamp reflectors in Rover steel grey.
Finally then got around to refurbing my BBS RN015s, and also bought a set of BuddyClub N1 racing spec coilovers and fitted OEM wind deflectors, so then it looked like this

Then i picked up the 3 stager, and thats when the fun began

I also picked up a few chassis upgrades,
ek9 front upper strut
Tanabe rear upper strut
ek9 lower wishbones
SiR brake/hub conversion

To fit the 3 stager a nice bit of wiring had to be done, as it was a preface block to be ran by a facelift harness on a preface ecu, yay
First step was to wash down the block and box and harness to tidy it up a bit, and to make it a bit cleaner to work with, so it went from this

To this, much better

Shitty old smoky econoblock

Out that came and the bay got a good clean too

Random shot of the D family

So now the wiring, here was the problem, I had to take a non vtec obd2b harness, and an obd2a 3 stage vtec harness, and make them into an obd2b 3 stage vtec harness, multimeter at the ready :D

Repinning the dizzy plug from facelift to preface

Theres loads of other stuff i really wasnt bothered taking pics of, like repinning the alternator plug, extending sensor wires, adding all the EGR and VTEC wiring and other little bits, i could have left the EGR wiring out but i didnt want an MIL on the dash when i was done, that was the worst part as it had to be ran through all the loops (look like blanked off plugs under the intake and a brown one down near the ecu plugs). In the end it turned out like this

All the factory cowling was cleaned and refitted with fresh tape aswell as all the factory brackets, took that little bit longer to get the harness to mount to the block exactly like the factory harness but it was worth the effort

D15 in

Fully in with ek9 factory airbox and brace fitted, aircon out

So for colder intake temps i fitted one of these

It seems to have worked well, theres a noticable drop in how hot the intake is after a hard drive, theres one or two other little tricks i plan on doing in the future so watch this space, as they can be applied to any car. While i had the intake manifold off i stripped it down completely, and bored the intake plenum out to 60mm, then the insides were soaked with diesel and left overnight. It was then fired into a bucket of hot soapy water and scrubbed out the insides, while i wanted to get rid of any metal shavings that might be left i also wanted to clean out all the oil the PCV system had left in it, it was then blown out, dried with the heat gun and rebuilt with a b16 throttle body, it then looked like this

After that performance wise its now running an apparently extremely rare original D series 5Zigen exhaust mani, *decat with a 5Zigen Fireball catback, Blox V stack, and heatwrapped aluminium 3" intake arm. Also fitted a BC racing spec condenser and M Factory catch can.
Interior now has facelift Sir front seats, RSM with G sensor, weighted shift knob, short shifter and a few other bits and bobs.

Front suspension has been upgraded by adding ek9 lower wishbones and sway bar+bushings, and is now sitting on Cusco Zero 1 coilovers all round.
For the rear it has new oem toe control arms, oem lca bushes, RTA bushings and Tanabe boot brace.

Some other work carried out over the last few months is undersealing around the rear chassis and cavity waxing the arch pockets and sills, you may have noticed im not great for pictures so i have none of carrying out that job, but believe me when i say you are not missing out on anything! :lol!:*This is the most recent pic i have, cheers to Davy for this:

Thats about it for the coupe project i think, i picked up an original JDM ek3 vti during the summer for a project so im working on that at the moment, the coupe will be going back to pretty much standard with all the parts going to the ek3, the coupe will get an NCT and hopefully a new owner. Well thats the plan at the moment anyway, im in two minds whether to keep it and go B series turbo, keep the ek3 as a daily or i could sell all and get something completely different, time will tell ha! ill try get a build thread up for the ek3 soon so keep an eye for that :))

Some work gone into all the small bits nice to see the effort put in.. Fair play damo

Sound man, yeah there loads of little bits gone into it, forgotten half of it now im not great for pictures so wouldnt remember everything ive done with it
