Dash Blank?

I have just got my ek9, and have noticed that the cd player has been repositioned to the top off the dash above the heater controls beside the type R badge. I was just wondering what is supposed to be there? Is it a carbon fibre blank or something a bit more important than that.

I'm sure the cd player is ment to be there. That's where mine is.
Could be wrong!
 
If the cd player is supposed to be there, what is the space above the cup holders at the bottom of the dash for??
 
Just random storage? I've seen people relocate the cd player to that bit
 
But the hole is the size of a cd player and has no back on it so u can see right through it there is nothing u could store there
 
Dont know what's happened to yours then, the owner before you could of had the cd player there. On mine it's just a storage bit with no hole..
 
Ill take a picture of it hopefully tomorrow, and post it on this and you can let me know what u think
 
Normally there's a storage pocket there and the radio is in the dash. In Japan there was an option to have a tape deck or graphic equaliser in the lower position hence why is the same size. You can also relocate the radio there and put a blank in the dash of gauges etc.
