Did Honda really get it right from the factory?

if all your going to do is intake exhuast and ecu then yeah just leave it stock.

however i DONT believe honda made perfection, its just that your list of mods is so minimal its pointless, many people on here have only those mods but they have plans for more so that makes it worth it.

Hmm. I dunno. You can never have enough power I guess. So I may decide to do more mods at a later date

it does sound way too much, although it also dynoed a stock vzr n1 at 201 at the fly ten minutes later

Those mods are same mods I have except I have lightened flywheel, SPOON lightened driveshafts, 4.785 Final Gear. 201hp and 188whp makes no sense to me... anyway, as long as it drives well and like we all know, dynos are all different but that dyno sounds like the software is stuffed! You would be surprised to hear that our B18CRs make only around 130whp average on our dynos.:nice: and will run faster than your friends 188whp B16B.

Blinx: I don't think Honda made perfection either, but you gotta hand it to them for making 116hp per litre out of a 1.6L:nice: They've got limitations such as emissions, fuel efficiency etc etc. Thats why we have SPOON, TODA, etc etc. :D

my friend had his old ek9 dyno'd at 170bhp at the fly, that was running on standard 95 ron fuel with the following mods
-cat back exhaust system
-aem cai

he was a bit dissapointed with this so he did the following
-started running on 99 ron fuel
-added sports cat and 4-1 header

he then had a unichip and vtec module fitted and had the car RR tuned. after this he was then producing 196bhp at the fly :woot:

he said that the unichip and vtec module really made the car alot better to drive! more driveable before vtec, he also had the vtec point dropped to 5800rpm which meant that the car wouldn't drop out of vtec between gear changes too!

to be honest i wouldn't think of doing any internal mods to my ek9, i really like the way that it performs and it already has full exhaust/header/panel filter and i think that's enough. i just think it's great fun to enjoy the car and master driving it :D

geez, now I really think your dynos are crazy... 196bhp is 200hp

yeah I still don't understand why theres hp and bhp. why dont they just say whp, bhp. I always thought ps and hp was same. my bad.

Actually, I found many times that B16B makes 184.3 bhp which is 190 ps but I don't know exactly what ps means

there is nothing wrong with ek9 as it comes out the factory one little bit
the most powerfull na 1.6 ever mass produced still to this day
just learn to drive it you will amazed
upgrade the brakes and pads once you start pushing it cos you will end up warping the disks , decent tyres is a must and stiffen it it up abit more
your see every single of those 183 bhp that mr honda gave you working

196bhp with intake exhuast and a chip isent abnormal, thats about 166whp which is about 10-15whp above what the stock motor dyno's at on a dynojet.

For me the CHASSIS is perfect, the engine is "good", and the handling is the best. hehehe
