Ok, so ive been reading thru the build thread lately and i decided to put up.
purpose of the build will be for competition in Super Sprints, Club Time Attacks and the World Time Attack.
So at the start of the year My mate and I decided to build a race car after coming back from a club track day, as we didnt want to wear and destroy our daily cars.
Lucky enough he had a mate from work selling a Ek1 for $1500 so we snapped it up and took it home. trying to do this on student budgets is tough but we are trying to do every thing at home to make it as cheap as possible.
the 1st thing i did 2 it was in stall a Nardi steering wheel which came off my daily as in slowly reverting it back to stock.
Next we sold the Hideous 17" rims that came with it and i slapped on my 15" RE30s with my old set of R888s
for a few weeks the car was driven around as it was and pretty fun to drive due to the slicks.
I started talking to sum friends and mechanics and we got some small sponsors on board to help us with the build.
We Have a B16 waiting to go in at the end of the year which will be stock as we are going to up grade to a K20 in the near future. ( we are sticking with the B16 now as its cheap and we want to get in to competition at the start of 2011).
The suspension we are getting as part as a sponsorship deal are from BC(Bor-chuan) ER Version, these will be in in around 2 months time as they are building it to our specs and our needs.
for now the car was just stripped and needs a clean inside and out and the sound deadening will be stripped off inside and out as well to make it as light as possible.
so no we play the waiting game for the Coilovers here are a few pics of the progress so far.
