Drinking petrol like mad using double that what it use to???

Anyone got any ideas why my car is drinking fuel like mad, its just had a full service last week including spark plugs, oil, oil filter and fuel filter and that seems to have done no difference. There are no check engine lights and etc on the dash it just seem odd why it would use so much petrol???? thanks
 
Recently when my thermostat packed up my fuel consumption dropped considerably. Thanks to Will EK9Turbo for suggesting the issue to me.
 
ive just replaced the thermostat 3 weeks ago due to it was stuck open thanks.
 
Dont mean to be mean, are you sure the temp range is right easy mistake or it might be a faulty unit ie the rubber might be split iv had this prob at work before. If it is the thermostat though the enine will run cold when driving normaly. Hope this helps :nice:
 
Check to make sure the o2 sensor is working properly...does not always throw a check engine light when this goes out. o2 not working properly will sometimes change the fuel consumption.
 
I was thinking of the o2 sensor, would it give any other problems that are noticeable that lead to this as well also where is the cheapest place you can get hold of one or would a jordan, vti or any other ek uk car do thank you.

Not really, it will make the engine run rich. sometimes does not even throw a code which I think is weird. Good luck its a simple job. :nice:

I would not know what is interchangeable on this part sorry. Just get oem or bosch and be done with it for 10 more years.

bosch=crap. you`d be better off with fuji or nippon

Hi do you think the o2 sensor of a uk car would be the same ie jordan, ek, vti and etc cheers.
