i am currently buiding a b16a engine for rallying, i am using b16b cams and need valve springs and retainers to use with them. i have been looking at skunk 2 but they seem very pricey, what would be best to use? the engine will be reving to a max of 9000rpm

dual valve spring & Retainers from CTR should serve the purpose

There was someone selling standard b16b parts on ebay. Dont know if the pistons will be any good to you.

I would not trust OEM springs/retainers for 9000rpm of race use, they were not designed for that. I would go with upgraded springs/retainers from any of the major companies:

-skunk2
-ferrea
-supertech
-etc...

I think you are right, i will go with one of these brands as i may put higher lift cams in sometime. i got oem honda oil rings today and will get a head set tomorrow, thanks for the info:nice:

I agree with blinx9900, but FIRST make sure the B16B cams makes power up to that RPM range, please tune your vehicle! hehehe

2x, if your doing the springs might as well right? :nice:

Yeh don't use OE springs, use a known brand that are designed for higher RPM's.

Also even if your engine isn't making peak power at 9000rpm with B16b Cams, if the power hasn't dropped off massively after peak, it's still good to rev that high for track use as it drops it back into optimal rpm when you change gear.
