Have a 95 vei civic EG
Put integra 5 stud set up on it, and a set of HEL braided hoses

Beld the brakes up and I'm getting a bit of a pedal but its still not 100%

Been round each side a good few times as there is no air coming out when releasing the nipple

Is there any thing else I have to do to get a good pedal?
The eg had drums before and now has rear discs could this be the problem?

Any one have previous experience in this would be a great help

Micky

You're doing this procedure correctly right?? Adding fluid all the time to the reservoir, putting a clear PVC hose on the nipple and never sucking air back in? Going around in the right order? Using the help of a friend?
If you have any question on any of the above, you need to look up how to do this the right way.

If you are doing all that correctly, you need to check for leaks everywhere,
starting with-

  • Where you connected the SS hoses, each side of the hose
  • The caliper piston seals, pull the caliper off the pads, look
  • And check up in the driver foot well for leaks coming from the master cylinder

Take a look inside the master cylinder fluid reservoir with someone giving a few pumps on the pedal (open cap). Look for air bubbles coming up out of it. This could mean a bad, leaky master cylinder.

we haven't been putting a clear PVC hose on the nipple when bleeding
Have been doing the correct procedure going round each side

Was doing a bit of reading up and I think I need to change my master cylinder to a dc2 set up
But not 100% on this, I didn't think a master cylinder would so much difference when changing brake set up

I'm going to check for the leaks tomorrow.

Always use a clear hose when bleeding, makes life so much easyer.

Checked for leaks. None found
Bled each side with clear hose, no air coming out, even tried bleeding the master again

Going to get a dc2 master cylinder and servo, the eg4 one is very small compared to a dc2 one so we are thinking that will fix the problem

Try to bleed with the engine started.

It may sounds crazy but that's the only solution I've found to bleed correctly a civic at the first try and get a hard pedal ...

ill give that a go for now, I will still be getting a DC2 servo and master

Thanks :)
