ej9 vs ek4 differences?

just found out i own a ej9 not a ek4 as engine was converted before i bought it by icetronix, just wondering what are the differences between an ej9 and an ek4 bar the engine?
 
try looking at the stickies at the top of this section! they've got all the information needed as this has been asked a million times! :nice:
 
Wow that's pretty poo! You brought what you thought was an EK4 and it was actually an EJ9! :(
 
no bought the civic cz was my first car really liked it just was told it was an ek4 by my mate and was wondering was he right and of course he wasnt haha
 
In the other thread you made you stated you brought the EK4 from icetronix which had been converted to a 1.4??

That's 2 different stories mate :( ???

yeah hence why i also have a thread sayin i just found out i have a ej9 not a ek4, the car has an engine coversion anyway just confused what the differences would be between the ek4 and the ej9 cz i know all about ek4 and not ej9's

EJ9's are 1.4 SOHC engines (89 hp). They are the entry model for 6th generation civics. The sport version does not have extra power, as all EJ9's have the same engine. D15A4 - preface lift and D14z2 - facelift.

The EK4 (3 door version) was the best you could get in the UK. The EK4 has a b16a2 (DOHC) engine (158 HP).

The EK4's uses rear brake discs instead of brake drums. The suspension is slightly lower and strut braces have been added over the base model. The seats are also different.

EJ9s are very far off EK4 spec (hardly rare either). Apart from the obvious differences in the engine/transmission the EK4 also has to offer,

Brakes ;

-ABS
-Larger m/c
-rear discs
-262mm front brakes

Suspension/steering ;

-revised spring setup, slightly lower
-Front and rear ARBS (most ej9's have none, some have a front one)
-Strut brace
-revised steering rack

Interior

-EK4 has black plastics and carpets
-Better support in the seats
-Different instrument cluster
 
right i thought we were talking about both the 1.4's? not the ek4 vti?
 
get a few braces and arb's on mate and rear discs if it hasn't been done yet and she'll be grand.Get a few pics up mate
