Hey everyone,

So I searched around, and am Changing the lights in my car from them nasty yellow ones to some white LED's

I've successfully done the easy bits like, Boot light, Interior Door Light, and that interior one with the Two Festoons, but I realised that my Dash isn't that bright, and I know you don't want it to be but;

The lights behind the numbers and stuff are Fine, However the lights that are at the top that light up the Dials are a bit dim and don't really allow me to see my Dials, especially when it comes to the Temperature gauge and fuel gauge,

So I was wondering if you guys knew what size or diameter Lights would fit;

Such as these = 10 x 286 LED Xenon White T5 Dashboard-instrument bulbs | eBay

Thanks Guys! :thanks::thanks:

The ones you posted in the link would fit the bulb holders but they look too long to fit behind the cover. Id ask the seller for the length of the bulbs and check them against your oem bulbs.

Id say they will be TOO bright over OEM and reflect like crazy off your dash plastics.

Yeah, That is what I was worried about, I really didn't know if they'd be too bright or not, because there was One LED behind the speedometer that was the normal Bulb Size, so I put that in and that looks fine, but I do need a subtle light to shine onto the Dials,

If the bulb I put in the back fit in the front i'd have done that, Because that wasn't too bright, but I guess I'll just have to see, So the ones I posted will Fit but maybe too Long?

Cheers Mate!

you need something like this:

clicky!!

The ones you have are "spot" or "1 directional" meaning it only comes out the top of the LED, with the ones i have linked it has 3 points of light thus meaning better uniformity and more dirrected light towards your dials :nice:

Done my dash LED but used the same as you, will be going back and changing them all to the multi directional ones :run:

These ones should eliminate "hot spotting" behind numbers etc as it throws more light around :p

Hope that helps :)

Awesome! That's pretty cool, When you do it post some pictures let me see how it goes?

Also how many would you recommend buying?

Thanks Mate,
Michael

at least 7no, replace the t10 with a t5 just adjust the holder :nice:

Good guide here:

Clicky!!!

Note on page 2 the use of foil and paper to cover the top LED so that the light is not thrown direct at the dials :nice:

Just bought some T5's!

I already have a T10 LED plugged in the hole though,

So I'll take some pictures when I have put the T5's in and upload them here!
