Hi guys. Sorry haven't searched- using my crapberry as the laptop is in for repairs. Anywas, I own a south african Ek4, since I bought the car two years ago, I have had trouble with the handbrake. Now I know our cars don't have the best reputations when it comes to handbrake, BUT I can't belive that it is SO bad. At first thought it might be the pads and they where shot, so I replaced both rear discs(upgraded to drilled discs) and then put FEMO pads. Had the handbrake adjusted(not sure how to do this myself yet- I tried when changing the brakes with no success.) When I get the handbrake adjusted it works lovely for about a week. Everytime I pull the handbrake up tho, it almost as if I have to pull it up higher/harder the next time I use it. Now I have had it adjusted 3 times now over the course of the last 2 months but its really starting to annoy me. I don't know if its the original cable still there or not, but I don't know what's causing this? Is the cable stretching? Surely then it will get to a point where it can stretch no more and will snap??
