EK4 MOT/Cat/Exhaust Problem

Hoping you wise people can help me out.

Ive got an EK4 (UKDM) which has been happily running a HKS Hi-Power cat back and de-cat for the past 4-5 years. Luckily I have had a nice friendly MOT man!

Unfortunately though he is no longer so 'friendly' so need to get some form of CAT back on.

The problem I have got is that I belive the exhaust is meant for an EG and not EK so is a bit shorter on the B-Pipe/Cat end as well as a couple of the hangers being a bit of a strech

From the cat section:

UKDM (which i still have) = 420mm long
JDM Cat = 305 mm long
My decat = 350mm long

Now I am thinking one way is to just get a JDM Cat and make up a small extension joint to bridge the gap. Question is will the JDM Cat bolt up ok to the HKS and UKDM Collector?

Another option is to just get the exhaust cut down to accept the larger UKDM Cat (which looking at the cost of JDM Cats and the risks of them turning them up with damaged baffles/cores i am leaning towards).

Anyone got any other easier/cheaper ideas considering its going to be on for about 1 day every year??

TIA
