Alright lads,
been keeping and eye out for EK9's for sale locally and found this one for sale honda civic ek9 type r gilford Belfast used cars for sale it started out being advertised for £5300 then the price steadily dropped, then the location the car was based in changed overnight now the owner is looking £4000 for it to "take it away"?!?
So i'm trying to figure has someone bought it (hence the location change) and put it back up for sale withing about a day?
It all seems very sus. and £ seems mental cheap, what do you's think?

pics don't really help but to me it looks like a facelift ek9 from the outside and deffo pics of a pre facelift on the inside... plus you get what you pay for dude :nice:

If you're not sure, leave it... There seems to be a lot of scamming going on on these sites.

I've seen cars advertised, like EK9s and they've been left hand drive in the picture but the car is advertised in Dublin, and you can clearly see the car is somewhere is the Philippians or something. I've also seen them using pictures of cars that belong to members on heres, probably google imaging them, but clearly its not theres.

Just be careful mate, 9 times out of 10 if it too good to be true its probably is.

Safest bet is to buy from someone on a site like this, someone with plenty of posts, much more reliable and the car is going to be well minded most of the time.

Good look with it :nice:

There's been a few on here near that price so you might aswell wait for one from here atleast you can find some back ground about it. Even if they have done a few more miles

I've seen pic's of the front of the car and she's got pre-facelift front, the pic's were also taken at a filling station I know near the border to the south, I duno it just seems weird and £4K seems too cheap for a 9.
And the price was dropped from £4995 to £4000 in about 3 days, not interested at all as it's far too suspect for me, just thought I'd share and get opinions.
I've had about 5-6 trips to england to buy different cars so would be nice to get something half local but I'm in no rush as I've still got my car and I'm still trying to tell myself I dont need to change my car (as if that ever matters!!! lol)

ek9s can be picked up in japan for around a £1000 so there cheep cars to have when people arnt trying to make a buck,

thats way too cheap. i would avoid as it seems dodgy. either car has a major problem or is a scam.

True, but I've been to Japan a few time's and got a (japanese) mate in Niigata so I know the whole craic with car prices in Japan and I've been a member of a few auction house's, I know the money you can get them at and the money a good one costs, a good one is alot more than £1000 out of an auction house and thats only the FOB price, then you have to add on things like shipping insurance, customs inspection cost and then vat etc on top of that so I know the like's of Dunx's isn't making a fortune on his cars cos he's buying the tidy stuff from auction which is making top money.

Wouldn't be too bad if you had an amphibian's 9 lol

lol japan is an island and so is britain so yeh you will need an amphibian 9. i suspect that the amphibian conversion will cost you more than the price of shipping though lol.

Im not saying this car is legit, but its very hard to sell a car in the current climate. If your stuck for cash what do you do? wait 6months to see if anyone will buy, or drop the price??

A friend of mine let his DC5 go for €6 000 euro last week, hes going to America in the summer and needs the money. Another friend took a deposit on his DC2 and is letting it go for €3000, too expensive to drive to his new job!

Each are making big losses,
Id say there are a lot of people in the same boat, Its a buyers market out there at the minute with a lot of cars overpriced (IMO).
