ek9 front windows, factory tinted?

Hey all, sorry if a similar post has already been made on here I couldn't find one, simple question really...

Are the two front side windows tinted from factory? All it is, this morning on the way to work I got pulled over and got handed a £30 fine because the two said windows were only allowing 39/40% of light through.

I'm fully aware of the law in that no tint at all is supposed to be on any of the front windows, with as much tint as you want allowed on the rear windows, it's just since having the car I've never actually noticed that the front windows might possibly be tinted. The guy I bought the car off never mentioned the front's being tinted so was just wondering if that's how they rolled out the factory in Japan :/

driver and passenger windows should not have any tint, the rear side windows do however.
 
So to clarify if my drivers side and passenger side windows failed the light% test or whatever it is, they have some sort of tint on them when they should have nothing on?

....correct.
Front driver window and front passenger side windows have zero tint as it is not legal.
Rear side windows do have tint.

Front side windows and front windscreen can not have "tint".
 
Mine have a very slight tint. It's not smoked but its a blueish green tint
 
can you not see the edge of the tint film if they are tinted?

if so whip it off and clean window down as it leaves a nasty residue
 
You're not allowed to tint the front windows? I'm planning to tint mine slightly. The rear windows and rear window has tinted glass. The glass is actually dark. It doesnt have an actual film on it.

Can someone clear up whether tints are allowed on front windows. I used to have my EK4 windows tinted pretty dark too. No coppers said anything.

the amount of tint your allowed on the fronts is very minimal and not worth doing.
yes the ek9 has tinted rears (not film),but for anybody who has tinted fronts its gonna be a film of tint in most cases.

depends where you live how much grief you get if you have fronts done.
 
It's illegal in the UK to have ANY gradient of tint on any of your front windows. Really wouldn't bother doing it as one day you will just get stopped and fined.

You can tint any of the rear windows as much as you like.
