ek9 log book

hi any1 bought there 9 from a importer and its been registered as a vti?

if so have you insured it as a vti to bring the cost down ?

would you get away with it if states on the log book ? and comes up as a vti on insurance sites?
 
On my log book it says Honda...that's it. But to be safe, everytime that I've gone to insure it I've made sure they insure it as an EK9 with everything declared...but that's just me
 
am the same mate just insured it tonight as a ek9 . tempting tho considering the prices nowa days but nowing my look ad crash in to someone
 
i would phone the importer and ask why it was registered as a vti !!!

no point paying insurance for the wrong model.
 
am not daft mate i no the difference between a ek9 and a vti , the vin/chasis number on the log book still ek9 120 etc must be cheaper to register it as a vti or somthing
 
If your not daft and you know the difference why are you trying to blag it? you will get caught eventually.
 
an not trying to blag it if you read the previous threads i insure my my as a ek9 . just wounderd if you did would it be ur fault or theres (dvla or who ever ) if they have put it down as a vti.
 
Its called "up most good faith" its a clause on your insurance, basically if they can prove its b16b ie. pic of engine code and not b16a like on your chassis plate they wont pay you,

So the inland revenue dont go hunting for johny civic unless you bring attention then they will do you for revenue fraud and your insurance wont pay out a cent and you will get black listed and liyng to ins company is an criminal offence as it is.........
 
Yeh insurance companies love to find ways of not paying out, so dont give them any ammo to not pay in the event of a bump
 
My Ek9 is down as and EK9 on the logbook but when i first put the reg into a insurance companys website it came up a vti-s, crossed my mind to just insure it as this but its wrong and if anything happened it wouldnt be worth it! Best to just keep things right! :)
