Hi people,

im having abit of a problem with my windows, just dont know if people are too bothered about this situation, but its doin my nut in everytime whilst driving and weather suddenly changes lol

Problem is my windows are at fine speed going down but just goin up they're generating really slow on both sides till when near enough to fully closed it stops at the top, to the thought were i think its fully shut but leaves an inch or 2 gap, so everytime when it rains abit of water leaks through (same on passenger side) and once this happens i have to keep engine running to push the windows up till its fully covered/closed  sometimes my driver side window goes up halfway and stops! then having to pull the window up abit itll then continue goin up slow. Its getting to point where im  with these windows lol after everytime spraying WD40 down the sides of the rubber channels doesnt really help as when i do this it works fine till it drys up (next day) then repeats the slow proceedure :( this doesnt happen on my friends ek4 which im jealous about lol :p

Just wondering is there anyway on fixing this problem? or is it were theres no point..

Any help be much appreciated :thanks:

Pat

wd40 will ruin the door rubbers DO NOT USE IT! get yourself some silicone spray, its only £1-2 and spray that around the window rubbers. you should notice a vast improvement with that applied! :nice:

 didnt think of that tbh only thought of using wd40 to lubricate the rubbers. Oh well.. thanks for advice i shall buy one and try it out :nice: and hopefully dont need to spray every so often lol

WD40 is fine for cleaning the gunk out of the runners but you must clean it all up and then lube with silicone.

If you just lube you are putting it on top of the grot thats causing the problem in the first place ;)

Also try taking the door cards off and lubricating the actual machanism that takes the window up and down. If thats not been oiled in a while it might free it up a bit :nice:

Cheers for advice guys really helped out with it, used silicone spray on the rubber channel after gave it a good clean flush out and seems to be goin good :x::nice:

Thanks
