engine build questions??

well to all, im doing a build on my ek9 leaving the head alone for now but was wondering what ye would suggest in the lines of headgasket and pistons and rods, what would the best be for a good gain on power and maybe raise compression a bit, all suggestions would greatly appreciated

Whats the reson your building your block? Is the current block in bad shape?
 
im rebuilding it because i got the car into my hands with no.3 conrod bearing in bits and spun on the conrod scoring it to bits , a very bad rattling noise .
 
Good time to stroke it to 1.8ltr. Use integra type r crank, rods and pistons.
 
ya i soppose do i need to modify the block in any way to do this??
 
Nope. Just check that your cylinders are ok and within spec
 
you would be best off gettin a second hand dc2 bottom end and going from there.
 
ya i soppose ye dont know of anyone selling itr bottom end stuff might consider it or even just the crank and ill get the rest new, whats the difference in stroke compared to the ctr??? cheers for the help by the way !!!!!
 
B16B civic type r engine Stroke: 77.4 mm and B18C integra type r engine Stroke: 87.2 mm
