Engine cranking but no start! Help!?

Hello. I have put a new engine back into my car. Last engine was b16a2 and now in the car is a b16a. It's cracking over but not wanting to run. It's getting a spark and fuel, timing is bang on. I spray brake cleaner in the Inlet manifold and it does not want to fire the slightest. Only thing I have found is the thermostat ground once it's off and cracking over I connect it to ground and it want to fire for 3 sec and back to the same way cranking with no fire.

How are you checking spark? Have you got a spare distributor you can try?

ye its getting a spark. might try and get a hold of a nother one. can a dizzy just randomly get woren out or tierd??
any tests i could do to fix it?

would it make a different if the dizzy off the b16a2 went on the b16a??

You could just swap the coils from one dizzy to the other, easier than removing the whole thing and re timing it.
I had the same issue as you and it was the coil. Still had a spark but to weak to start the engine from cold

Might try that. Does the engine have to be TDC when putting the dizzy in??
