Engine noise question - ek9 to 98spec mani

I swapped my manifold this week from a standard b16b mani to 98 spec mani and my car now sounds similar to a scooby. Had it with my mechanic today and he said its just down to the manifold. He had an mb6 that had the same issue with a DC sports mani.

I was just wondering if anyone had experienced the same issue.

my car kinda sounds like an evo on idle. I put it down to the manifold and the big bore exhaust. Wouldnt be worried about it though.

Yes it's the manifold. Down to it being a more equal lengthed manifold.
