I want to swap a b18c4 into my ej6 preface coupe. when I buy a complete swap it will come with the ECU (P9K, I think). if I use this ECU with my current key I'm going to have immobiliser problems wont I?

I have read up about other people using other ECUs instead of the one that comes with the engine swap. is it possible to use my d16 ECU (P2E, I think) somehow?

ANY info is welcomed as Im a noob

thanks

I can't answer your question on whether the b18c4 has an immobilizer.. My guess is no? Ask the supplier for your new motor if nobody chimes in here.

It does have a dual stage intake manifold so if you're going to keep it that way and not get some sort of single stage manifold, IE type R style, then you'll have to use an ECU that supports it, like the stock ECU for that motor. The P2E will not work.

The p9k ecu has a immobilizer and it can be demobilized to run your swap, its a fairly easy procedure too.

Get a conversion harness to suit your wiring loom with a p28 or p30 ecu, then you can get the car remapped pretty easily to suit the setup you are running. £100 should get the ecu and harness if you watch on ebay
