I have just brought a Engine Torque Damper and fitted it. Do i need to adjust anythink on the damper or just leave it ?

thanks Rich

the tighter you adjust it the less movement you`ll get from the engine. I`d adjust it right up, give it a spin and see how it feels.

i would put it as stiff as it goes then back it off a bit as your engine needs to move a we bit.

oh and post some pics plz

wouldn`t of thought by tightening it right up that it would go that tight but never used one so wouldn`t know.

no they dont go that tight that it dont move. i put one on a car before and that was the way i done it. it was a 20L 16v corsa tho mite be different for a civic

**** me i have never seen a 20L corsa before, bet it was a right beast :D
Do people rate these torque dampers much?

I don't really see the point. What gains do you get from it? Better throttle response??

it helps make smoother gear changes an smooth out power loss rather than the engine rattlin around wen u bang it into gear in a race situation

engine torque dampers work well, have you ever spun the front wheels and noticed juddering, i thinks thats the engine moving and the dampers eradicate that as wells as lost power thats used twisting the engine back and fourth

Its a great mod. I've got one installed and once tightened, you can feel your engine vibrating on start up inside the cabin.

You can get tougher engine mounts like babyface said, but that will cost you comfort. New engine mounts are always stiffer at first anyway. Adding this will improve the stiffness half way to getting stronger and bumpier engine mounts.

Personal preference again.

I suggest having both Stronger engine mounts and torque damper for track use.

nice. well better post pics once you get it on and let us know what you think of it fitted

Tegiwa do their own one, along with an MCS..

i hve both the Spoon engine mounts & torque damper...

damper set @ its hardest! as mentioned it does vibrate ur cabin a bit [more on cold starts] but u feel power delivery is improved when racing up the gears! :win:

What do you adjust to set the hardness/softness?

Anto, do you see the yellow thread and ring? Thats what you twist to adjust the length of the damper. The longer the length, the more it presses against the bracket mounts, hench tightening. Then the damper would act as an additional engine mount. Thats what it is really. An extra engine mount.
