Engine warning light

Soo i have and ek9 And the engine warning light is on ATM it's been on for a week now. I took it to a garage to check it out and they couldn't find any where to plug the diagnostics in :s they looked at engine and seems fine. the bracket came off the exhaust two weeks ago and ripped a hole in the exhaust this has now been welded , i thought it mite have been that?the garage think it's cos I decat it but I can't understand why the engine light would come on 2 months after taking the cat off. help please?

My car only uses cat once a year for its MOT and it never threw a CEL, so it is most likely not the decat. Have a look at this:

Theres a obd 2 port under the dash. Its either on the left hand side of the gear stick area behind the centre storage area, or by the ecu.

Decat doesnt usually throw a eml as ek9 doesnt have a second lamda, damaging ur exhaust hasnt damaged your pre cat lambda has it?

cheers for the replies, ive had a look ive found a plug behind the dash to the right of the steering wheel, i think this is the plug they needed? il have a look at the pre cat lamba and il try to reset it cheers for the help
