exceeding annual mileage

i have exceeded my annual mileage would this affect my insurence if i have an accident?. i was not made to declear my car mileage so would the insurance company know?
 
Yes it would cause you a MAJOR problem if you have a claim and your insurance company picks up on it. They could ask to see MOT certificates to see how many the miles have been covered. If an insurance company suspect foul play they will do very thorough investigations.

Best bet is to phone up and add some more miles!

Could argue the mot thing cause for example mine falls smack in the middle of my policy so i may have done more miles last year under a different policy if you get my drift.

Agree entirely though if you've exceed it ring them up. Insurance will do anything to get out of paying. Don't give them more ammo.

Just my 2 sence.
