Exhaust Confusion

Right so after a fair amount of searching I can honestly say i cannot find a definitive answer..

Basically ive just bought a Skunk2 Megapower catback..
now they are sized at 60mm = 2.37"
so what do i do? buy a header with a 2.5" collector and a custom decat that goes from 2.5" to 2.37"? or get a 2.25" header and a custom decat to 2.37" or is there any 2.37" collector manifolds or am i being a complete and utter idiot?

Well the type R is 2.25 and these restrict down to about 2" in the exhaust system. So just use JDM DC2 or EK9 mani with 2.5 cat.

So if I just use a manifold with a 2.5" collector and a 2.5" decat I should be able to just bolt them straight up together with eachother and the 60mm catback and it'll be fine?

I cant tell you 100% but all exhausts i've had experience with fit the triangulated joint on a Cat / Decat

Once you it the triangulated part the hard part is mating it to the manifold ( i had to get my decat modified with an adjustable bolting section. )


The system I had was:

DC 4-1 Manifold 2.5" collector
Resonated Decat 2.5" (had to get it customised as described above)
Buddyclub Pro Spec cat back
