Not sure whether to go for a JDM 98-spec Integra one or splash out on a Hytech or Toda, or Mugen etc... I've got a Mugen Twinloop catback.

What you got?

it depends, do you REALLY want to spend $1000usd on a header? for just 2whp? i like the jdm 98spec personally BUT, any of those headers is going to have bad ground clearance on a street car (except toda).

toda is probably best of the shelf you can buy, new version is re designed so doesnt fall part which was common on older version (mainly due to high revs = vibration and engine movement )

mugen will work ok with twinloop, not much gains but few bhp and little torque

BUT something like hytech, smsp, rmf stand above everything and give the best gains hands down, lot of money but worth it

if you can get one of those great headers at a bargain, then i would certainly do it!! :nice:

Wait, which header is $1000 dollars and only gives 2whp? I know the mugen and spoon ones are overpriced, toda is more worth its money. And if I was spending nearly 1000 on a header, the only sensible thing would be to step up to a custom hytech header for a little more. And while I'm on the subject, hytech offers semi-custom off the shelf headers for $850, sounds like a deal to me.

So how much whp increase are we looking at over the stock manifold, with say, a Mugen 4-2-1?

It depends on your current mods, but don't expect big gains putting it on standalone, no matter what brand it is....
I don't think it worths to spend your money on the Mugen manifold cuz you can find a much cheaper one for less money and of same quality.....say, 5Zigen 4-2-1.
In general, top brand exhaust manifolds are over-overpriced....

All i've got at the minute is a Mugen CAI and Mugen Twinloop de-cat back.

EK9 exhaust manifold is one of the most restrictive EK9 OEM parts!! I would say it becomes very ineffcient even with simple mods....
Man, you have no idea how much you loose from your twin loop because of your stock header! :nono:
Trust me on this, buy a 5Zigen E/M, I'm running it with a Kakimoto exhaust which is not as good as Mugen twin loop and I'm impressed the way it performs at midrange.......the engine does not make noise, it sings truly!! :nice:
Plus all that extra weight you throw away
Am buying the twin loop next month! :lock:

Thanks for info mate. So I should be looking at ~5whp+ atleast with my current mods with a 5Zigen or similar?

Enjoy your twinloop when it arrives and I hope you don't get the <3500rpm rattle.

:)

Mugen twin loop + 5Zigen mani + your intake, definitely above 190 bhp! :D

Thats a good setup :nice:

Another thing you can do is get a mugen one used, they should go around 400 $ :p

Is that a 4-1 Mugen on yours rvm, in your sig? That hangs too low for UK roads, it'd hit every speedbump in sight!

Do the 4-1's hang lower than 4-2-1 in general?
